Music

When I was 12 (1988), my father bought me my first MIDI interface for my PC, and since then I have been writing my music and making my own arrangements. Here is a sample of my work, from when I was little till now

Miscellaneous pieces

These are pieces that weren't really part of any bigger project. Most of my early stuff is here too...

Canzone per Clarinetto in Fa min (1999) - This I wrote after I met my wife in 1998 (and that's why Clarinet is the lead instrument). Here I tried to forget about chords and keys... in the sense that I didn't really think in terms of F-7, C#0, etc... but just in term of the voicing. The whole piece, though, flows very well.

Dialogo tra vibrafono e sintetizzatore in Re min (1993) - A piece I started working in high-school, and who knows when I finished it (at least I did). This is one of first pieces where I realized I shouldn't pick the instrument I want to use from "real life", but should see what instruments MIDI I have and what I can do with them...

Dialogo tra chitarra e sintetizzatore in La min (1993) - Another piece I started working on when I was in high-school... Starts with a nice bass line, repeated over and over, underneath a guitar solo (yeah, the guitar sucks... it's a MIDI guitar... that's before I had MIDI/Audio sequencing and a guitarist to help out). The piece goes in random places, before coming back to the theme.

Rock in Re min (1993)- Original thought as an end solo for a bigger piece, only the solo part remained. It's one of those pieces I started in high school and worked on it for a while... I remember that when I finished, the sound module at the time didn't have enough partial to play the very end...

Canone in Do (1991) - This is a piece I have written when I was 15, and kept arranging and rearranging... This is a mixdown made in 2006 from an old file dated 1997.

Variations on 'Punti di Vista'

I composed this piece in 1998, as the music for my theatre play 'Punti di Vista' (Points of View). Originally, we didn't really have music planned... when we realized it (not much before the representation) I wasn't really planning on writing it. But, I had this idea of doing a Variations on a theme, which fit perfectly the underlying theme of the play... so I couldn't resist.

Each variation is played before each act, and is a prelude for the mood of the that section.
